Breaking the Cycle: Why I do this work

My journey into therapy began with a deep curiosity about why we repeat painful patterns, even when we long for change. Through both lived experience and professional training, I’ve come to understand how childhood trauma and attachment wounds shape the way we think, feel, and connect with others. But more importantly, I’ve seen that even the most deeply ingrained patterns can be reshaped.

I was drawn to this work because I believe that all humans have inherent worth and the ability to heal, no matter their past experiences. Trauma can make us feel powerless, stuck in cycles of self-doubt, emotional disconnection, or fear of intimacy. But these are learned survival responses, not reflections of who we truly are. I help people recognise these patterns as adaptive strategies, not personal failings, and support them in reclaiming a sense of safety, connection, and control over their lives.

Healing is not just about understanding trauma, it’s about empowerment. Therapy with me is a space to reconnect with your inner strength, build emotional resilience, and move toward a life that feels more secure, fulfilling, and aligned with who you truly are. No matter how impossible change may seem, patterns can be broken, and a new way of living is possible.
